What's new at Gulani Vision Institute

The Gulani Vision Institute has recently acquired the First Pentacam Tomography system in the entire North East Florida.

• Dr.Gulani received the First Place award for Best Surgical Video in Special Category at the National Conference (American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery) for Lasik surgeons held in California in March 2006
• The Gulani Vision Institute has recently acquired the First Pentacam Tomography system in the entire North East Florida. This system helps select Lasik candidacy of patients with this world's first Scheimpflug imaging system towards safety by better selection of patients for Lasik surgery.
• Dr. Gulani has introduced a new concept, which may in all possibility one day become a super-specialty- CORNEOPLASTIQUE™. This spectrum of aesthetically elegant and vision focused eye surgeries are raising the bar on ocular surface techniques into the future.
• Dr. Gulani was recently awarded SUPERPHYSICIAN finalist award for his trail-blazing services and leadership in the field of LASIK and Advanced Eye Surgery.
• Prior to this, Dr. Gulani was awarded the "UP & COMERS AWARD 2005" for his continued influence as a visionary in North East Florida.
• Professor Eduardo Sevenster from South Africa traveled to the Gulani Vision Institute to observe and learn these advanced Laser Vision Techniques.
• Dr. Gulani published three book-chapters in a textbook for corneal topography, which was released at the European Congress for Eye Surgeons held in Lisbon-Portugal and then released at the American Academy for Ophthalmologists conference in Chicago.
• Dr. Gulani taught his Advanced Corneal surgeries at a Wet-Lab (Surgical training section) for eye surgeons at the American Academy for Ophthalmology conference recently held in Chicago.
• He also updated attendees on Advances in Wavefront & Custom LASIK at the JCAHPO course of the AAO.
• Dr. Gulani taught his instructional courses on advanced techniques and artificial cornea to eye surgeons at the European Congress for Eye Surgeons in Paris and also at the American Academy of Ophthalmology conference held in New Orleans.
• Dr. Gulani completed a book chapter in a New Textbook for Advanced LASIK surgery
• Dr. Gulani also completed yet another extensive chapter in the prestigious journal, Clinics of North America on invitation by the faculty at Cleveland Clinic.
• Dr. Gulani completed Two peer reviews for the Cataract & Refractive Surgery Journal:
  1. Future of Wavefront LASIK systems evaluating the outcomes of Laser systems all over the world
  2. Evaluating outcome and projection of the newer surgical options for presbyopia.
• Dr. Gulani performed Advanced Surface Ablation surgery and corrected patients with corneal scars to excellent vision using the Laser used for LASIK surgery
• Two Eye Surgeons who had traveled all the way from Thailand to study LASIK and Advanced Corneal Surgery under Dr. Gulani successfully completed their training and have initiated these new techniques at their university in Thailand
